It seems popular singer, 9ice, is in a charitable mood as Saturday Beats
exclusively gathered that all monies from his forthcoming album titled,
‘ID Cabasa,’ which is to be released in October, would go to his
long-time friend and producer, ID Cabasa.
In a telephone conversation with the
artiste who is currently in the UK, he explained his reasons for
dedicating his forthcoming album to ID Cabasa. He explained Cabasa was
the first person to believe in him and he would forever remain grateful.
The singer said, “I am currently working
on an album that would come out in October and I would title it ‘ID
Cabasa’. I am dedicating the album to ID Cabasa and all the remuneration
and profits from the album would go to him. All the money I make from
the album would go to Cabasa because of all the work he has done for me
from the time of ‘Gongo Aso.’ When I was nobody, he was there for me;
there is a difference between someone believing in you and someone
encouraging you. ID Cabasa believed in me and encouraged me through his
platform. Cabasa is going to produce some of the tracks on the album and
he welcomed the development.”
While commenting on his collaboration
with Ruggedman after six years of controversy between both parties, he
said he was glad they finally have a song together. “I am happy that I
collaborated on a song with Ruggedman. I am moving ahead in life; there
is a point in life where you have to look back at where you are coming
from and where you are going to. While we are going up the ladder of
success, there are people who are part of our success. Ruggedman was
part of my success story so there is no point for us keeping malice.
That is the reason we came back together,” he said.
The ‘Gongo Aso’ crooner told Saturday Beats that the collaboration was long overdue but did not happen till now because of rumour peddlers in the industry.
“It took long for us to have this
collaboration because there have been a lot of speculation flying around
about both of us. I have always said it that I did not have any problem
with Ruggedman but people were always misconstruing things. It was all a
misconception within the entertainment industry and people began to
peddle rumours against us. That was what led to the misunderstanding
between us but I thank God that we are back together,” 9ice said.
