Canada's immigration site crashes due to Donald Trump's imminent victory

The Canadian immigration website, 'Citizenship and Immigration Canada', crashed as people started looking at ways to immigrate to Canada when they realized that there was a possibility that Donald Trump could win the US presidential election.

Facebook user shares photos of a baby born deformed due to use of contraceptives by the mother

A Facebook user, Sylvia Ijeoma who is a nurse shared photos of a deformed baby that was born in the hospital she works in. She said the deformity was due to the use of contraceptive by the mother while she was pregnant. She wrote:

The Appeal Court in Lagos has described as illegal the monthly environmental sanitation exercise held in the state. Passenger aboard a flight in Mexico were left scared after a 3ft snake appeared in an overheard locker in their plane. On sighting the reptile, passengers unbuckled their seat belts and ran in panic causing the plane to be given a priority landing. The snake was trapped with a blanket provided by the fight attendants until the plane was successfully landed. Then animal control workers rushed into the plane and captured the reptile.

Multi-party democracy is the best for Nigeria –says President Buhari

President Buhari Monday, noted that multi-party system remains the best option in Nigeria’s democracy considering the diverse population of the country. According to a statement released by Garba Shehu; Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity; the president who made this known while speaking at the commissioning of Edo State University, Iyamho, in Etsako West local government area of Edo State, said, that Nigerians need to appreciate the strength in the country’s diverse ethnic and social groups:

Four members of a dreaded cult group named Awawa, in Kadiri area of Agege, Lagos, have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command.
The state’s police spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos, while confirming the arrest of the suspects to Tribune, noted that the Dopemu command had been alerted through a distress call by the residents of the area, who disclosed to the operatives that cult members known as Awawa were terrorising them and passersby around the area.

Photos: Baby suffers severe burns after kerosene explosion

A political aide to Delta State Governor and blogger, Ossai Ovie Success posted the photos along with a list of precautionary measures. He didn't say when or where it happened. However, a woman and her 3-month-old baby suffered severe burns in a fire incident caused by a kerosene explosion in Akwa Ibom State. A father also lost his two children in the incident.

Gabrielle Simiyu a motorcycle taxi operator from Kenya was almost lynched by an irate mob after he was caught having sex with a goat, it took the intervention of the police to save him. The horny 26yr old says he had sex with the animal because he was rejected by women and villagers claimed it wasn't the first time and he had previously coupled with a chicken and a cow. Justice Kudrat Akano of Osun High Court on on Tuesday, November 8th, sentenced an octogenarian, Mr Oluwafemi Fagbemi, Tobi Ojo, Famutuwa Femi and Tope Olatunji to death for murder. They were charged with a two count charge conspiracy and murder, offence contrary to sections 324 and 319 of the criminal Code Cap. 34 Volume 2 Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
Prosecuting counsel from the Ministry of Justice Mr. Abiodun Badiora told the court that the convicts on April, 13, 2012, killed one Jacob Ajayi for money ritual in IIesa town. The headless body of deceased was recovered from a septic tank, with other parts of his body, including his genitals, removed. Supreme Court upholds Seriake Dickson's election as Bayelsa State Governor

The Supreme Court today Tuesday, November 8, upheld the election of Seriake Dickson as the validly elected Governor of Bayelsa State. The seven-member panel of judges led by Justice Tanko Muhammad gave the ruling following an appeal brought before it by the All Progressive Congress (APC) and its Governorship Candidate in the December 5, 2015 election, Timipre Sylva. The panel members said they will deliver a detailed judgement on November 18.

Earthquake of 5.0 magnitude hits central Okalahoma

An earthquake measured at 5.0 magnitude struck the town of Cushing in the northeast of Oklahoma City damaging several buildings. There have been no casualties so far in the quake after the heavy tremors were felt as far away as Texas, Kansas City, Missouri, and Arkansas when it happened at about 50 miles (80km) of the city at 19:44 local time (01:44 GMT Monday).

The Cushing Police Department in a statement, reported that the shakes caused ‘quite of bit of damage’ from the earthquake and said parts of downtown were being evacuated due to gas leaks.

Fire broke out this morning at a residential building in Mende, Maryland, Lagos State. The cause of the fire is still unknown but the Lagos State Fire service and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency helped put out the fire. See more photos after the cut.

Residents of Ikorodu community in Lagos state are currently staging a protest following the decision of the state government to ban the LAGBUS(red buses) from plying their route which already has the BRT (blue buses) plying it.

Acting Commissioner for Transportation, Prince Anofiu Olanrewaju Elegushi, at a press conference on Friday, said the decision was taken ahead of plans to introduce Intelligent Traffic System along the BRT corridor in the state.
Elegushi said consequently, all LAGBUS would no longer be allowed to load or drop passengers along the BRT corridor, pointing out that it was part of steps taken to relocate all other franchises from the use of the corridor.

Syrian forces bomb a nursery school in rebel-held city of Harasta (Graphic photos)

Six children were killed and dozens more injured after a nursery school in Syria was bombed, reportedly by forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The children were peacefully playing during their first break of the day when government forces launched mortar rounds at the kindergarten, which is located in the rebel-held city of Harasta, a rural suburb of the country's capital, Damascus.

A father, Christopher Cadenbach killed his two young sons, 5-year-old Ethan and 4-year-old Owen, before turning the gun on himself in St. Louis on Saturday night.
Cadenbach, had a $100,000 bond issued for his arrest in connection with a previous domestic violence dispute, but on Saturday afternoon when he met with his mum and two sons at the park, he told his mum that “he wasn’t going to be taken alive”.
