A Federal High Court in Lagos yesterday refused to issue an order for the forfeiture of $15.5million found in the accounts of four companies currently being investigated for fraud and money laundering and have been linked to former first lady, Patience Jonathan.

The Nation reports that at the resumed hearing of the case against the directors of the four companies, the presiding judge, Justice Babs Kuewumi, convicted the companies after a review of the facts of the case by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFFC)'s lawyer, Mr Oyedepo Rotimi.

Hospital report blames patient's fart for causing fire during surgery

An operating room snafu out of Japan became a viral topic because of what happened at the hospital: It seems a patient's fart ignited a fire that left her with serious burns during surgery. The incident took place at Tokyo Medical Center. A laser was being used on the cervix of a woman in her 30s when she farted, according to a newly released assessment of the April incident released by the hospital.
All equipment was operating normally, leading a panel to conclude that the woman's gas ignited the laser. The hospital report states:

A student of Suffok University, Tiffany Martinez has been accused of plagiarizing her paper by her sociology professor because she used the word 'Hence' According to her, on Thursday morning in class, her professor handed her paper back to her and said loudly in front of the class 'This is not your language'
The professor circled the word 'hence' on her paper and wrote 'this is not your word' and also underlined 'not' severally. on the top part of the paper she wrote 'please go back and indicate here you cut and paste from'

Two armed robbers killed in fierce gun battle with police in Warri, Delta State

Two armed robbery suspects were killed while one escaped after a shootout with the police in Warri, Delta State. A 42-year-old realtor in Dallas, Martha Teran, who wanted to sell her daughter's iPhone 7 was shot and killed at a Medieval Times parking lot Sunday night as her horrified daughter watched.
Teran had met the buyers through an app known as OfferUp, according to a report by Fox 4 Tuesday.

At the two-hour closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, held earlier today, the Leaders and Stakeholders of the Niger Delta, led by elder statesman Chief Edwin Clark, presented a list of 16 issues for dialogue.
